Can someone explain Dumpag?

Orginal Post: NeverMan: I believe that's what it's called. Does anyone train this? If so, what do you think of it? Maybe I have the wrong idea, that's why I want to be filled in and "enlightened" :).

Post: lakan_sampu:

where did you hear that? the closest I have heard, and trained with, is "Dumog" or Filipino grappling,,,>

The guy, Allen Sachetti, is married to a Filipino and supposedly helps train some of the Filipino special forces, or something like that. He has apparently knows Pekiti-Tirsia.>

Post: Hengest:

I'm not certain, but I always thought dumpag was just another name for panantukan or suntukan, Filipino boxing.

Anyway, it sounds like this guy is a bit of a dick:

Yeah, I read that article awhile back. I actually think he had a point although the whole sueing thing was taking it a bit too far, IMO.>

Post: The BadBoy:

It's amateur rules if he's that bothered about throwing elbows why don't they fight semi pro or pro rules?>

The promoter of the fight was from New Jersey and the rules were set by him/them. I think he was complaining that the rules were set to favor certain styles (as a lot of MMA fights are) and he would have liked the rules to have been broader. I think he was unhappy because the fight was taking place in Delaware and it was a NJ promoter who was unwilling to change things. Maybe it's like a "don't come to my turf with your stupid rules" thing or something, I don't know.

The question remains: Can someone explain Dumpag?>

Post: Hagurus:

beats me.. never heard of it.

btw, hello to all!>
