Orginal Post: opariser1001: Post your favorite sweeps guys, or the ones you get the most.
Mine are:
1. Hip over (makikomi) - I like to go for the kimura from guard then when they hug my body to preven that I just hip over. I get this sweep the most out of all of them.
2. Elevator - My second highest percentage sweep. No special setup here, just in nogi I get an overhook and an underhook and a butterfly on the side of the underhook and sweep 'em.
P.S. - I love jiu-jitsu. :)

my fav is the same one you call the hip over i think, but my coach calls it the hip bump. the way i do it is to just put one foot on the floor, then use it to lift my body up and just crash my hips into the person to sweep them, also i control thier arm on the falling side so they dont base out.
the other sweep i do from time to time when you're in full guard against a stacker and underhook there leg under the knee and just kinda roll yourself over>

I've used the hip bump a lot.
Another favorite, although it's not technically a sweep, is the omoplata. I used to sub people with it all the time, but after a while everyone was on to it and rolled out in time, so I just used it as a sweep.>

They are talking about newaza sweeps, not leg sweeps in tachiwaza.>

Im sorry my head is not in Jiu-Jitsu right now but I really love escaping from mount and also side control. Kesa and Kata Gatame - I love the escapes where you point your hand across your chest or straight up depending on where you want to go, then explode out.>

I like the scissor sweep. I don't even know why, I suck at it.>

Thats a good old school sweep. I understand the frustration with it. Sometimes I feel like the Master of the Scissor sweep and other times I feel like it hates me.>

The problem is that I feel the scissors were designed with the gi in mind, and I try to force it too much in no-gi. Instead of a lapel and elbow grip, I have to use an arm overhook and half of an inside frame...it can get ugly.>

No-gi, I use a deep Underhook on the bent leg side and a tight overhook on the straight leg side. I rock toward them then back hard and hit the sweep. I have more success no-gi than gi. Its because I have to be so tight No-gi they really get pulled over my hips.>
