Steve Seagal and Van Damme beatin in public???

Orginal Post: JCSamurai: Dude I have read comments about steven segal, and Van Damme getting beat up in public, is this speculation or truth? I know that neither one is the greatest, but is this rumor or fact?

I would love to see Van Damme get the piss beat out of him!!! :P :D

Post: nbotary:

Van Dumbass - yes. Seagal - no. Van Dumbass got the shit kicked out of him by his trainer one night while they were out at a club. Apparently, he let his ego and his mouth write a check that his ass couldn't cash. To bad it wasn't done before he put out all those terrible movies... The Quest, Street Fighter, LIONHEART!!!!!!!!

Seagal on the other hand, although a terrible actor, is a muthafuckin' badass. He is the only "round eye" to ever have an Aikido dojo in Japan. He was challenged numerous times and proved that he had the right to teach and that he was good enough to do so.>

Too bad he forgot how to be a "bad ass" when the M.A.F.I.A. tried to extort him! 8) >

Post: nbotary:

No, I disagree. I think he used his head and saved his neck. The Mob can take you out anyway they want whether your Bruce Lee, Steven Seagal or Jackie Chan. If they want you to sleep with the fishes or be a part of a building, they will make sure it happens one way or another.>

Post: BLACK PANTA:

Segal is like a 7th dan or sumthin...I read somewhere tho that he was made to look stupid by an old judoka. I believe he was RNC'd. I think I read that here.>

Yeah, I feel you. Good point. I STILL THINK THE MOB IS A COWARDLY, RACIST, LOSER ORGANIZATION, THOUGH.

Yeah, that's right, I said it!! 8)

I heard this story too. It was Gene LeBell (pink gi guy. Some accounts are that Segal pissed/shit his pants after trash-talking Gene and Gene put him in a chokehold (probably RNC). I don't know whether it's true or not, though.

Though I do remember reading somewhere that Segal's rank is a little trumped up and that he skipped a few dans so he could teach. Anyone know if this is true? Badass iriminage that guy's got, either way...>

Post: Hengest:

Yeah, Gene LeBell choked Seagal out on a movie set I believe. I also heard the "pissed his pants" part of the story.

Seagal's claims about being the first gaijin to run a dojo in Japan are not all they appear to be either. The dojo was actually his father-in-law's, not Seagal's. He did teach there, but I don't think he ever ran the place of his own accord.

That said, I still think the guy's aikido is (or at least was) of a pretty high standard. I remember reading praise for him in an interview with Dan Inosanto, long before Seagal got famous.>

Post: JCSamurai:

Van (Dumb-ass???) Hahaha. He's a dick I agree.

Take Sensei (Segal) was allowed to skip Dan grading (or at least quickly excelled) to take ownership of Tenshin dojo (dojo of his ex-wife father)

However this dudes Aikido is crazy good. His irimi is unique though I think because of his height. I've seen guys try to imitate it and they look really dumb. His Kotegaeshi is flawless, and his Suwari waza is excellent for a tall knocked kneed guy.>

Post: bamboo:

JC- Have you felt his technique in a full restsiance randori or watched demonstrations?

I have nothing but opinion based on films and the few demos i've seen. I would call his aikido far from flawless.

Watch people like S. Yamaguchi, Saotome, Gleason, Abe. These men use what they need when they need it, no exageration or excessive use of force, and most times you miss what they did if you blink.

Post: angryrocker4:

so, it comes down to if you could only fight one, who would it be? I'd take segal cause fighting a balerina isnt kosher.>

Post: nbotary:

I'd love to fight Van Dumbass. After I kicked his ass, I'd smash his face into a nice big kilo of coke and force him to watch a "Van Dumbass" movie marathon...>

Post: dscott:

The stories that I've heard are as follows:

Van Damme - Got knocked out by Chuck Zito (an ex bodyguard of Van Damme, an ex member of Hells Angels and used to be on "Oz".) Apparently, Van Damme was being his usual cocky dick self and offended Chuck. Chuck gave him the opportunity to right the wrong and he didn't.

Segal - He was on a movie set back in the 80's and he was disrespecting the stunt men. Saying that he could kick all their asses and such. Judo Gene Lebel was the stunt coordinator and he didn't appreciate this. He bet Segal that he could submit him, Segal took the bet and ended up getting choked out and apparently piss/shit himself while he was out.

That's the stories that I've heard. Obviously only a few people know the truth but......>

I would take on both of them AT THE SAME TIME, under ONE condition:

 NO RULES! STRAIGHT UP STREET FIGHT!

Other than that, I really ain't trying to fight NOBODY; unless we are sparring.

P.S. I would also have to be able to use my Super Saiyen technique

Italian; Gambino crime family.>

Post: BLACK PANTA:

I would like to fight van dame...he's is IMO the more arrogant of the two. Besides man you can't beat up Segal, he played a tree huggin Native Indian in one of his movies. And he doesn't look for any excuse to show his ass in any of his movies like Van Dame does....WTFs with that....oh he soo deserved to get his ass kicked.>

You posted twice. That's what happened.>

[quote=nbotary You posted twice. That's what happened.[/quote

No shit, I'm glad you can count.>

Post: WushuPadawan001:

Funny that it?s the Italians. Much of my family is from Sicily and had connections with the mafia until they came to the US. I think they left some time after a great uncle of mine ?disappeared? when he did not want to continue business in the family.>

Post: Taoist:

i read that vandamme was sucker punched with a one two and walked out of the bar on his own accord while signing autographs>

Post: nbotary:

Did you also read somewhere that he was being his usual arrogant asshole self and probably deserved it becuase he talks too much shit? Van Dumbass is nothing but a "has-been" and would've been better off as a "never-was". If it weren't for TBS, TNT and Spike running his movies in syndication, he'd have to go back to driving cabs again while in between bags of coke!!!>

Not his Aikido his Kotegaeshi is flawless. IMO!!!!

And no I have never felt his technique, but I watch and study enough to know that he is no joke, or at least was.

My first sensei had the privilidge of a seminar with him, and tells me his technique is very very strong. Saotome sensei is one of my favs, he just gets a little too much into the spritual aspects for me, Abe sensei,Yamaguchi, and many more were all great!

I also like Shibata sensei, and Tamura sensei.

Who do you practice with and where?>

Post: JCSamurai:

Not that anyone cares.... Cause I don't! But have you guys ever thought Van Dumbass might be reading these posts????????

Maybe even Steven Segal? Just a thought, no big deal.

I think if your mouth and arrogance writes a check your ass can't cash, then you need to get the Piss beat out of you.

I think that's why Steven Segal is a bad ass, cause he has had to back it up in reall life. He's also one tall Mutha- with very quick hands, and an "I don't give a shit about you" attitude.

"very Aiki">

Post: WushuPadawan001:

That's also the image his PR people have worked hard to create. I?m not saying Seagal is not a badass, I have never met him. But keep in mind that he was a Hollywood actor for a long time. I could give two examples of this regarding two famous martial arts movie legends, but in the event that I have been misinformed I do not want to mistakenly slander their reputations (let?s just say that a certain Hong Kong mega-star and Tiger are not all that they?re cracked up to be).
Remember that public figures work hard to create an image that may not necessarily reflect who they are.>

Post: bamboo:

I have since stopped practicing.

I recieved my last rank under Gleason sensei and was a student of his okugyo seminars.>

Post: samurai6string:

Wushu> My family is from Naples/Tuscanny, Are you one of those blonde/blue eye Norman/Sicilian throwbacks or are you darker like myself?>
