Orginal Post: Pim1: did anybody catch the fight that took place in the back yard, it was a bit poor but it did have some interesting points within it such as pulling guard when the other person is standing(in which he got slammed) & the most shocking of all the gullitine choke from guard during the second phase of the fight in which he put the deadly eye strikes in to escape the choke which he was succseful with, he did spin for an arm bar which was good but then got slammed on his head twice then let go of the arm. my point is that the eye strikes did work in that situation they did not cause damage to the eyes but nonetheless did cause him to go for another move.

that said it is hard to say what would have happened had that been against a person with no real understanding of ground work escapes etc.

what do think

Post: dscott:

I don't think he used "eye stikes" at all. That was pretty much a ring fight, outside. I don't think they were actually trying to hurt each other as much as they were trying to "save face" in front of the rest of the guys. The fight was stupid and Dana was right when he said that it made them look like goons and was exactly what he's trying to stay away from.>

Post: zefff:

Dana still aired the footage though.

I dont watch that crappy show but I did catch the bit of the show just after the fight...it defo wasnt a fight and LOL @ the dude walking round with his blood everywhere thinking he is a badass cos he got his head split open. Most of them look like cans anyway!>

I completely never thought of that. That's a great point. He's a bit of a hypocrit, huh?>

Post: Triple T:

Lightweights can suck my taint. More than any other type of fighter, the lightweights always think of themselves as badass killing machines and strut or posture almost constantly. Dana White can suck at my fleshy fun bridge, too. That warped fuckstick spent more time and money trying to make the UFC personality driven than actually improving the "sport" and yet everywhere he goes he talks about the "sport's" reputation and how people are starting to see it in a new light. Bullshit.

As for eye strikes defeating a ground game or whatever, since all the talk was about slams on concrete and heads getting busted open, those eye strikes must have been half-hearted. The typical eye gouge is supposed to rupture the eyeball or remove it from the socket. Shit, come to think of it, even those slams must have sucked if the first one didn't knock the slammed out.>

Post: dscott:

This is basically the 2nd "round" of the fight.

BWAHAHAHAAAA!!!! Whining cos he got spiked on the paving! Hahaha! The way he applied the armbar you know he just wanted to make him tap. Hahaha!!

What cracks me up too is the way these pro-atheletes are always drunk!!!

Dana is a real knob though because he is full of that sport chat all the time but he is the most offensive person on the whole thing. His language is appauling.>

Post: Bloodybirds:

Dear TTT, not all of us lightweights think that way...frankly, at 5'4" and 150 lbs and 30 years of training, I tend to hit fast, hit hard, and run like hell....LOL! I am not proud, protect my family and protect myself, ego be damned!! As far as UFC, Dana White is becoming the UFC version of Don King! A little truth scattered among the lies! With his purchase of Pride, me thinks his pride goeth before the fall! See last 20 years of boxing ruled by egotistical promoters rather than for the good of the fighters....along the same path.

Just my humble opinion!>
