Good read. Pressure points/kyusho were always described to me as a "roadmap" telling you where to stand, and not as a means to an ends themselves.
To explain, there is no point (har har) in trying to nail some little target on your opponent. When you control the space and attain proper positioning, the targets simply become one of many options. The effectiveness of kyushojutsu is itself dependent on correct timing, disbalancement and/or posture of the opponent.
So the purpose is not to hit such and such kyusho, but rather are sort of a way of making "success" measurable.
Thus its important to remember that if you CAN use the techniques, you've already defeated the opponent, not visa versa.>
