Orginal Post: Gong||Jau: Recently I've been training in Thai boxing once a week in addition to the BJJ, and while I love the kicks, I still prefer the handwork I learned in Wing Chun. Here's the problem: as far as I can tell, it's pretty much impossible to use the body structure techniques in Wing Chun from a Thai stance and with boxing footwork, and likewise the Thai stance works better for throwing round kicks from. I'm putting this in the JKD section because I figure JKD people are most likely to have experience with this. Has anyone else had this problem (or a similar one)? What did you do?

Without anything specific to go on the only thing I can put forward is that shifting between stances can allow you to perform certain techniques.
It works best for me when you program combos into your body and know what position your body is in when one ends so you know which stances you can blend seemlessly into from there. Clumsy and obvious changes of stance must be avoided or reduced at least cos they will create more problems than they solve.
But all that faffing about will prolly piss of your MT instructor anyway!>

Yeah, I don't mention the Wing Chun and just do what he says .>
