Can someone lock this?>
Post: Umy:
I second gong jau on this one, dont I miss being a mod :P
Boxing isnt like other arts, you dont have a fancy magic technique that you claim to have invented, just the bare essentials, no single punch will ever guarantee victory, you may be good at a certain punch but generally the power is spread across all your techniques, not just the 1, you may have an exceptionally good cross but im pretty sure that your other shots wont be too bad either.
Also, dont listen to cartoons :?>
Post: The BadBoy:
Well some boxers were known for a certain type of puch which kind of became their trade amrk. Jack Dempsy had that big corkscrew right. Heny cooper and Joe Frasier with their Left hook, etc.>

I am not at the moment going to lock this thread since it looks like it may actually help the gentleman that posted the question. We all have had terrible misconceptions about the martial arts at first.
If it gets silly then I'll lock it, otherwise, if another mod chooses to lock this thread, its at thier own discretion.
cheers, :D

I REALLY love my lead hook, but I will mention summat else, although its not really one punch I cannot stress how important doubling up the jab has been to my sparring delights. Triple and quadruple jabs are so cool when they sting his face its a joy I feel inside like sex!
but like Umy says, only thing that works is bread and butter stuff.>

i found some info on boxing tech
# The Sailors Salute and the Reverse Sailors Salute? and when and how to use them.
# ?The Shuffle Kick?, yep, boxing has hidden kicks. Learn how to disguise them and how to follow up.
# ?The Upper Cut Smash?. You completely shut down your opponent with this one.
# ?The Corkscrew? This is an almost forgotten technique that your opponent never sees let alone counters!
# ?The Shift? An old technique borrowed from fencing. When used at the proper time, it NEVER misses.
# ?The Pivot Punch? This was thought so dangerous it was
# outlawed from boxing 100 years ago.
# ?The Elbow Rip? Makes ?em think they?ve been shot with a .45!
# ?The Back Hand? A perfect way to follow a hook or cross.
# ?The Ax? This is how Louis Firpo knocked Jack Dempsey completely out of the ring!
# ?The Ram? This move teaches you how to block, close, and break his teeth all at once!
# ?The Wall? How to defend yourself against a faster opponent.
# ?The Cats' Paw? It looks like a Jab or a Lead, but it's not!>

...actually if I hit you hard enough my fist would go right through your chest and leave an exit wound. 8)
Just go and box at a gym FFS!>
Post: Ninja Kl0wn:
Kid, seriously. Get away from the TV. Turn off the cartoons, and quit reading the over hyped video ads you see on the net. Open your phonebook, find a boxing gym, and get your ass to class.>
Post: Gong||Jau:
The "pivot punch"? Do you perhaps mean the cross?>
Post: Umy:
ROTFLMFAO
Go into a boxing gym, tell the coach about all these amazing techniques, and see how long you can make him laugh for before he kicks you out of the gym.>

Gong, UMy,
