Didn't mean it like that, I'll choose my words better next time.

Thanks for the better link, I'm not sure how I messed that up.

Thats interesting. From informations that I have from 90s of 19 century to 90s od 20 century in ring fights all over the world died more than 2000 fighters.>

Post: Umy:

I dont want to sound harsh at all but like they say 'if you play the game you take the risk' if you dont want to put your life on the line then dont box, its obvious.

I mean what do you want from this? what do you excpect in a sport where the head or more precisely the brain is at an amazingly high risk of getting rocked with punches?

No matter how good you are you will take shots in a fight.>

Post: bamboo:

I had no idea so many had died from boxing. As the sweet science and gentlemans sport, I just never would have thought it!

I would have believed brain damage and other types of head injuries, this is a real eye opener though. The power that a professional boxer must be able to generate is simply incredible. Those short hooks that knock a well conditioned man out cold..... I have no interest in figting a good boxer!

-Send that link the the President of the WBC.
-The WBC President, Jose Sulaiman Chagnon needs to check boxing shadey past before he bad mouths K1.
"...K1 which represents a huge and regrettable return to the most savage times in which respect to human life did not exist at all, as this 'sport' is one of the most violent and less humane practices anyone can ever witness"

( A quote taken from the thread ' WBC bashes K1' in "Anyhting Discussion" section)

Some people wont agree with me, but I think that there is good explanation why moust deths in contact sports was in boxing.

Becouse Boxers know best how to punch. They know how to punch in the head and every punch make some demage of brain. Punch from person who know how to punch will demage brain much more than punch from person who dont know how to punch.

Boxers dont have kicks so thats why they developed so good punches. Kickboxer for example use bouth kicks and punches, but its hard to finde that some Kickboxer have better hand work than Boxer.

In Kickboxing fight fighter may get kick in head yes, but Boxer in Boxing fight will get more than ten times more punches in head.

I jused Kickboxing just for example.>

Post: Umy:

Setsu is right, in an art where you can only punch you will have to learn to punch well, remember that >

Post: setsu nin to:

We can compare it with running. If you run 100m, 400m, 1000m and 5000m you can be good in all four branchs, but you will never be good in 100m as someone who only run 100m or in 5000m as someone who run just 5000m if you run all that branchs.
Same is with punch if you have in Muay Thai legs, fists, knees and elbows your punches will not be so good as punches of someone who is in Boxing and who have only punches in fight.
And how many times we saw grapplers in MMA who dont know how to punch.
Ofcourse thare are always excaptions, same is here.>

C'mon man... K-1 fighter's are not good boxer's. They can kick with leg's... ok... damn... but they don't box like greate boxer's and that's a big difference between them.>

'Spired'

- What are you saying?...Take a look at this thread- 'Boxing Deaths'...the WBC President bashes K1 and calls K1:

" ...a huge ,regrettable return to the most savage times in which respect to
human life did not exist at all."

That's bull!...Boxing is way more deadlier than K1 is. He needs to look at the web link and check the number of deaths that come from the savagry of Boxing-and NOT K1!

- I enjoy both Boxing & K1 , the WBC President is totally out of line saying what he said about the great sport of K1.

--Cheers.>

Moust of K-1 fighters would lost boxing fight from moust boxers in my opinion, but same moust boxers would lost K-1 fight againse K-1 fighters, thats becouse they are in diferent sports. K-1 and Boxing are two diferent sports with two diferent rules.>

Post: kranker66:

-I guess it will be settled on April 30,2004, at the Bilagio.
I hope Michael McDonald does well.>

Thanks!>

Post: NonSolus:

Also, you gotta think about the fact that boxing has been around a lot longer than K-1. Iin the beginning the art was a bit different than it is today. And that there are fewer target areas in boxing vs. K-1, MMA etc... If K-1 sticks around as long as boxing has then maybe we're gonna see similar stats, although with todays and futures medical science, who knows?
Anyway I'm sure we're all gonna be long gone by then...

my 2 cents...
cheers
