Orginal Post: Michael M.: Hello.
I recently purchased an Everlast leather Speedbag and have set it up. I'm wondering though, how hard should I hit it, I don't want to break it (if thats possible)?

Post: Michael M.:

Unfortunately, I was hitting my speed bag, and on the swivel, the pin fell out and I cannot get it to stay in :(. So I have another question now as well.

How can I fix it so it'll work like it was originally?>

Post: george stiles:

there is a screw that has an alen head on the side of the round peice that the shaft goes into put it back together and tighten that up. also go to a gym and find someone who know what they are doing to show u how to hit the speed bag the purpose is not to hit it heard but to get a rythm and get your hands use to target aquisition and get faster it builds timing and acuracy too. also i thing its worth the investment to get the everlast pro speed bag swivel they run around 15 bucks american and u never have problems with them>

Post: Michael M.:

Thank you. I have an everlast swivel, but I'm not sure if its pro or not. I'll look into that. I tried fixing the swivel again, but doesn't stay, it seems that it was welded in slightly and now that its off won't go on.>

Post: Michael M.:

The swivel has been fixed, thanks again :).

I feel like an idiot though now, I put more air into the speedbag, but now there is too much. I cannot get air back out. Can someone tell me how to remove some air?>

Post: The BadBoy:

With a needle, the same way you would deflate a football.>

Post: Michael M.:

Thank you. I tried and think I am doing it wrong (a bit pathetic I know) :?. How would I do that?>

Post: The BadBoy:

You know the pump you used to inflate it? Put th needle into the hole but don't pump more air into it. That should do the trick. If it doesn't wiggle it about a bit.>

Post: Michael M.:

Alright, I'll try that and say what happens. Thanks :)>

Post: Michael M.:

Hmm, I tried that and it didn't work. The pin just sat there in the speedbag and no air came out, even with wiggling it around a bit :o.>

Post: Michael M.:

Not to sure where to put this, but I think it'll be best here.

Rather recently, I saw a clip of Sugar Ray Leonard hitting a speed bag. He didn't seem to be doing the classic 'Hit, Rebound, Rebound, Rebound, Hit...' but instead he hit the speed bag and only let it rebound once before hitting it again. In other words 'Hit, Rebound, Hit, Rebound....'. This is a very fast way of hitting it, and I was wondering if it is a better method of hitting the speed bag to gain the uses of it (Speed, accuracy, etc.).

By the way, my speedbag is up and better than before :).>
