Orginal Post: BLACK PANTA: Falun Gong is a spiritual discipline that combines gently exercises, and meditation. It is a style derived from Chi gong (Qi gong) if i'm not mistaken.
This form of Qi Gong in rapidly making the news, mainly because of the "Silent Genocide" going on. In China there are reports of the Communist Government rounding up these followers and either tortureing them or harvesting their organs. Most of the time the organs are being removed while the person is still breathing. The reports are disturbing.

Post: Wong_Kei_Ying:

"The Law Wheel Great Law" Fa-Lun Da-Fa or "Practice of the Wheel of Law" Fa-Lun Gong is a quasi-religious system of 5 meditation exercises: four standing, and one sitting. Introduced by Li Hongzhi who claims that his methods are superior to those of any Qi Gong school. His teachings are a mix of ideas borrowed from: Qigong, Buddhism, Taoism and Christianity.

Fa-Lun Da-Fa has a lot of elements of Qi Gong but is not a form of Qi Gong. Qi Gong has concepts and philosophies of Taoism and Buddhism. The distance between Fa-Lun Da-Fa and Qi Gong is that but for the most part there is no core belief nor a divine belief in order to practice Qi Gong, and therefore secular.

Since China is Communist, Fa-Lun Da-Fa threatens what China tried so hard to do during the Cultural Revolution.>

Post: BLACK PANTA:

Falun, is not really a religeon, more of a life style philosophy.>

Post: Wong_Kei_Ying:

Fa-Lun-Da-Fa is not supposed to be a religion, according to Li, but a practice complimentary to religious practice.

However, there are Beliefs of Falun and basic teachings... To each his own... I guess

It's unfortunate what the Chinese Government is doing to them and other minority citizens... Fa-Lun-Da-Fa aren't the only ones, they are the most recent and most popular...

Sad...>

Sad...[/quote

They are the most popular because they are fortunate to have followers who live in the west and are protected, so they are outspoken. There are many other silent and unknown genocides in China. The Hui people (chinese muslims) who are still being tortured and persecuted in China, the Tibetians etc etc.>

I never realised about this, i'll have to spend some time reading through the information later.

Post: BLACK PANTA:

[quote=Gazelle What does that mean? The writing in a different language, that is.[/quote

you are an inquisitive one aren't you
here's a question for you. Do you go up to people in public who are speaking another language and ask them what are they talking about and why are they using a different language?

BTW. I have no problem telling the meanings, but I think it may be beneficial to keep you in the dark for a while.

And here's the kicker....Arabic is neither of our native tongues.>

Post: Gazelle:

No, i wouldn't, but, i tend to listen out to see if i can hear what language it is. I'm used to people gabbing off in a different language in front of you now, it happens all the time here, well, when you go out of the camp, which i admittedly don't do very often. You could be having a conversation with someone, or being served and they'll go having a conversation in Greek.

No, arabic is not my native tongue, by any means, but i know someone who can speak it. Also, we used to get TV channels off an arabic network, the programmes were English, but there used to be translations in arabic at the bottom, not in the romanised version. I don't know why they stopped that.

So, how much arabic do you know? That's both to Wong_Kei_Ying and Black Panta.

Why do you thing it beneficial to keep me in the dark for a while?

And, yes, me being inquisitive would be a good observation!>

Post: Gazelle:

I can't believe it! 334 reports from inside china!

Why are they doing this?>

Post: Wong_Kei_Ying:

What Black Panta means is: Knowledge must come with understanding first...>

Post: bamboo:

MOD hat on.

This is an english forum, you want to isolate yourselves and keep the rest in the dark, then take it to pms.

When you post on the open forums, its assumed that you are talking to all and all are welcome. If I'm with a circle of friends and start speaking french to one and the rest ask me what I said and I won't tell them, well thats just rude.

BTW- Knowledge is gained by the inquisitive, shes not going to get any knowledge through osmosis.

-bamboo>

Post: Gazelle:

Well, fair enough, infact, understanding is what comes first. I don't memorise every fact i come accross, i first try to get an understanding of where its from, or whatever, depending upon the circumstance. Knowledge is useless if you don't understand it. In this case, how do you know that i do not understand whatever it is i might need to in order to know what you are saying? I'm not saying that you have to tell me (though, bamboo does have a point about using pm's if you don't want anyone to know what you are saying, or, is it just me?), but i can't directly see how the reason for you not telling me can be directly applied to this. How do you not know that i have some understanding? Just because i only speak English (unfortunately), it doesn't mean i haven't some basic understanding of things from different cultures (though, i admit it is rudimentary, how should you know without my telling you so in the first place?). And, the only way i am to increase any understanding or knowledge, is either by going out and looking for it, or someone telling me, and the former, through whatever means, would result in someone telling me.>

Post: Wong_Kei_Ying:

Please, do not take what has been said the wrong way... I admire your Zeal and your thirst for knowledge Gazelle... There is no secret to what is on my signature. However, It has nothing to do with the Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) in the slightest, therefore straying off topic.

I believe we should take what Bamboo said and PM for now>

Now my rebuttle hat on.

Kei Ying actually posted that as his signature, I responded in the fashion that is appropriate to the statement. Yes this is an english forum, but should that mean that we should not share our cultures, languages and thought. Should Kei Ying remove his avtar because it's not in English, should've setsu remove his signature because it was in Latin (same with Kei Ying).

I wasn't keeping any secret or speaking in code. I was having a little fun with Gazelle. The following statement has nothing to do with you Gazelle. Yes being inquisitive can be beneficial to learning, but it can also be concidered a little nosey. "Curiosity killed the cat"

Now since my joke has been made too serious, I will answer Gazelle's question. Kei Ying's signature is a quote from The Noble Quran....the muslim Holy Scripture.>

Post: bamboo:

This was actually resolved via pm before you posted this.

It was the "joke to gazelle" that was the issue, not the sharing of culture.
If she doesn't know its a joke.....

I've put my nose in and now its out.

-bamboo>

Post: Bloodybirds:

A comment about what was asked of Gazelle. I speak three languages other than English and, to BP's question, I would not do that. However, with respect, this is a public forum with public inquiries. If another language is spoken consistently, I believe it should be a pm. If I decide to speak Spanish, Hebrew, or other languages for a few replies then I would expect BP or any other moderator to ask us to take it offline. Soooo.....just my opinion, especially since we have so many qualified and good martial artists from all over the world, we need to have a common language to communicate. Wow, this is beginning to sound like the politically charged immigration issue here in this country.....sorry!!!!>

Post: Bloodybirds:

Sorry BP....I did not read your answer above me.....I concur and will generally retract.>

Post: BLACK PANTA:

ahh now that the fart i dropped has dispersed, lets get back to the issue of the thread.

The attrocities committed by the Comunist Chinese Government.>

Post: bamboo:

Very interesting subject as this group is always outside my building protesting the foreign affairs building adjacent to us. They hand out pamphlets and what not with some pretty graphic material, has anyone seen any of the photos from any groups besides the FG group?

-bamboo>

Post: BLACK PANTA:

they rally outside my building aswell. They say Rogers supports Communist Propoganda.>

Post: samurai6string:

Those darn communists, I've heard that many of the organizers of the aforementioned rallies here in the U.S. are disenfranchised Communists.>

Post: Gazelle:

Firstly i am sorry to have caused this much fuss, i didn't intend it such, i was only curious as to why you didnt tell me. Though, i had a feeling that it might have been a bit of fun on BP's part.

Wong_Kei_Ying, i was not offended in anyway, though i may have indeed taken it the wrong way, it seems you and BP were withholding the information for different reasons.

[quote=bamboo BTW- Knowledge is gained by the inquisitive, shes not going to get any knowledge through osmosis.
-bamboo[/quote

Never heard that one before!

[quote=BLACK PANTA  Yes being inquisitive can be beneficial to learning, but it can also be concidered a little nosey. "Curiosity killed the cat"[/quote

There is a line between the two, and i generally know when to keep my mouth shut and my nose out.

[quote=BLACK PANTA Now since my joke has been made too serious, I will answer Gazelle's question. Kei Ying's signature is a quote from The Noble Quran....the muslim Holy Scripture.[/quote

It sounded a bit like it. To prevent any more trouble i will refrain from questioning further! :D

Now that is done and dusted...

[quote=bamboo has anyone seen any of the photos from any groups besides the FG group? [/quote

No, i haven't i just had a skim through of a small portion very small) of te writing, and this is the first i have learned of them, so...

Why is the Chinese government prosecuting these people so? The only thing i know about China, minus the small portion on martial arts comes from probably one TV show years and years ago, and one book called 'Wild Swans'. Good read, that.>
