the previous competition also resulted in the same result....and one of the competitors is Putin's bodyguard....

um could we have an english link? but looking at the pics, i do believe it's Sanda vs Kyokushinkan Karate. I belive the Kyokushinkah dudes were from Russia. I have the vids of those fights.>

This proves nothing. Sanda guys beat some other guys in sanda matches; who woulda thunk it?
It's like having England's national football squad take on a rugby union XI in a soccer match and winning. Hardly newsworthy.>

Oh well, actually i can't comment much as i honestly have much to learn about martial arts yet...
however, i just found the story very interesting....
the Japanese Kyokushinkan Karate fighters wanted to challenge the Sanda fighters....they went there and lost 5:0. Then they wanted a revenge, and so they told the Chinese that they wanted to select the best Kyokushinkan Karate fighters from the world, not only from Japan....Hence the russian fighters, including Putin's bodyguard who was a champion several times before...
off they went, and they lost 5:0 again....
the Sanda Vs Muay Thai was a closer fight....the Muay Thai fighters won the first round...the Sanda had no idea how to counter the knee-ings....but they won the latter 2 competitions which made the final score 2:1 in their favor...>

Sorry buddy, do not know of any english link....
there is another chinese article which i found quite interesting as well, thought i'd share with you guys...
the Russian Kyokushinkan Karate fighters went to visit some Taiji academy days before the competition.....one of the Taichi master, wanted to test out Putin's bodyguard....so when they shook hands, the master use his 'internal strength' and squeeze the other party's hand....and according to him, Putin's BG tried to reciprocate in an unknowing manner....
however, after the 'testing out', the master predicted the Kyokushinkan Karate fighters would lose 5:0 to the Sanda fighters...as he felt they wouldn't too strong...
sorry...but i just found it almost like a kungfu kinda storyline....ha...>

lame...
though it is known that Royama Kancho (leader of Kyokushin-kan) has practiced and continues to practice Tai Chi, so his master is probably the Tai Chi master they went to.
agree with Hengest, this proves nothing. The Muay Thai fighters fared better because their rules are closer to Sanda.
so overall we've learned that Sanda fighters are better at Sanda >

haha...to each his own view...
but i do wonder if that's gonna prove nothing, why do the Karate fighters still wanna compete in it, with rules fully mutually agreed to...not to mention that they were the ones who wanted the challenge...
anyway, i am just relating a story..in fact, a fact...:)>

1. If a Sanda guy beat another Sanda guy in a competition, it means the former is a better fighter in that particular competition.
2. If a England's national football squad wins the rugby union in a SOCCER match, it means the former is better in soccer. Oh well, since they both agree to play in a soccer match, not a rugby match.
Well, you just can't agree to a competition and then say the rules are different so the result means nothing. If so, why join the competition in the first place?
anyway, just my view, let's just agree to disagree:)>

I didn't agree to the competition, so I think it's OK for me to say the results mean nothing.
