I have no money to spend on staffs, should I use a broom stick or something?
Post: WushuPadawan001:
Broom sticks work, so do hanging poles for coat hangers. The down side to such items is that they splinter easily. I suppose you could apply a varnish, but that would just create different problems. But for the time being a long broom stick should work. Assuming you practice at a dojo of sorts, you could always ask to borrow a staff/bo.
Wow, that was a very fragmented paragraph :P>

Windclaw, what do you know about staff? How long have you been taught staff for?>

That white tape they use in hospitals is great for defeating splintering. The tape has enough traction that you won't lose your grip on the makeshift staff.>

My arms and legs are lethal weapons. We could...work out some kind of deal?>

You may buy it for les than $10 on eBay, or you may find someone who will make it for you or make it by yourself for even lower price.>

Or you could get a saw, go out inot the woods, and find yourself a straight piece of wood and cut yourself your own staff. Get a good knife, take it home, skin off all the bark, and give it a while to dry out, and theres your staff. Spending money one something you can get for free seems dumb to me, especially something as simple as a staff.>
