Orginal Post: Stg: apparently,i just found out that my cousin, as moronic as he as and despite my warnings of such things, has joined a mcdojo karate school near his house. here's what they cover during the first lesson:
-the students watch a long video of the instructor "showing his moves"
-"i saw in the video the teacher do a cool spinning tornado kick..that would work in a fight, i'd kick lots of ass with that move" - my cousin
-afterwards they spent like 2 minutes punching in the "fist at your hip, other fist in horizontal punch" position(it was only a 45 minute class)
-students taught to bow by puting thier arms all the way behind them as if someone is restraining them and going all the way down, not keeping eye contact in the least.
-students don't get belts or uniforms at the first lesson. but apparently, it's one of the most important aspects of karate fighting in this place.
