Orginal Post: kranker66: -I scoped out a traditonal Karate place...it's geared to families ,and they sponsor potlucks for the kids, blah,blah,blah...$139 dollars a month for unlimited classes...this includes the Gi ..yada-yada-yada...and they saying that belt prgression every 3 months...18 -24 months for a Black Belt ...are they kidding!?...
...so I'll go ahead and ask, do you guys think it's an McDojo?

Well, you didn't provide much else like if you spoke to the teacher, or whether or not they have a lot of "jr." black belts, or if the school is new. Does the school have a website??? I would want a little more info. before I made a decision...>

Unlike my buddy Nbo, I am perfectly fine with jumping to conclusions based on very little or no evidence. 8) My money's on yes due to my bias toward American Karate.>

I did not speak with the teacher, but one of the admin. staff who is also a student. I looked at the webiste and it's weak... www.mydojo.com
...so that's it. I've decided not to go there due to the price.-$139 a month.
...that's $1,668 a year. too much in my book.
How many heavy bags could I buy for that?
Cheers>

-The website does show alot of stuff they offer, but how much are you going applies to all out-and-out training, and looking how much is geared for kids...I'm sure they offer a lot but it's not what I want.... 8O <---still looking
-I looked at a local gym which has a heavy bag, but there messed up because it's in a room for kick-aerobics and if a class is about to begin you gotta move out until after class, but they have classes back-to-back...what's a guy to do? :x
Cheers>

i like this quote ^_^
“Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become character.
Watch your character, it is your destiny”.>
