Orginal Post: FallenxAngel66: There's a McDojo in Daly City (CA Bay Area) named Lawlers. The sign outside says Karate in big letters, but once you go inside they tell you it's really TKD. Every 3 months you get a belt. Unfortunately, I went there for a while b/c of disagreements with my parents. I remember during most of our tests, a lot of the people had no idea what they were doing. A friend of mine used to ask me to help coach her through some stuff. So very sad.... As long as you paid, and got your 36 (i think you had to go twice a week for 3 months) classes in, you got your belt. Another example of why it was a bad school was that the classes were only 45 minutes long, which included 15 mintues of "stretching". Just a warning to anyone in the Bay Area over here.

I dont belive that I will ever go in that area, but anyway thanks for warning!!!>

Post: Wilhelm von Wänkensteïn:

Sounds befittingly gruesome. I've had roving fantasies of signing up for beginner classes in such a place and pretending I don't know shite about martial arts or fighting

"Oops! I'm sorry! I have no idea what happened there! I just grabbed ahold of something and twisted! Is your arm supposed to hang like that?">

Post: FallenxAngel66:

Haha.. Reminds me of a time we were doing rounds on those damn bags using a water-filled base. I remember I threw a few kicks and knocked it down a few times and got lectured every time. I think they're the reason I lost my good kicks... Damn...>

Post: lakan_sampu:

haha...too bad...
anyway...are they liable to the authorities? I mean, they ARE dangerous...>

Post: Wilhelm von Wänkensteïn:

Dangerous? Only to themselves and the people they teach >

Post: lakan_sampu:

yeah wilhelm, that's what I mean. They're professing false knowledge...>
