UFC 75 Bisping vs Hamil

Orginal Post: zefff: So what do you guys think? Im not a fan of Bisping but against the popular opinion I actually think it was a draw...just. Hamil won the first round, the second was a tie and Bisping came back stronger to score with his countering as Hamil failed to land anything in the third. I certainly dont give a win for Bisping but a draw seems fair to me.

Heres the vid if u havent seen it: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=17715258

1st round Hamil took it through control and I think really suprised him with his striking.
2nd round- Bisping - in my eyes (although the TUFF noobs I know all disagree) he controlled the ring. Hamil was left to play Bispings game and ran to him through most of the standup. When they got to the ground Bisping again controlled the pace. H is a big man but nothing on the ground to further is cause.
3rd- More of the same. Aggression may have been on the part of Hamil but what good is aggression if the pace and tone of the fight is controlled by the other man? I scored 28-29 in the 3rd for bisping- Hamil was looking tired in my opinion and did nothing to change things up when his suprising good standup from the first round failed to deliver in the 2nd and 3rd.

Bisping for using his head and fighting a thinking mans game. Then again, I hate Hamil's coach.\

Fuck both of them!!!!! What the hell happened to CroCop?????? Is he just cashing in these last couple fights so that he can retire when his contract's up?>

Post: bamboo:

Wow Dave, how are you doing? LOL

Crocop does not seem to have his heart in it anymore. He stayed completely flatfooted and did nothing. Maybe he hit his head and forgot how to box? He only uses his feet now.

Oh well, I just want to see Fedor in the UFC.

BISPING WANTS A REMATCH
Posted: 2007-09-11 19:35:32Last updated: 2007-09-11 19:35:32

This is a posting from Bisping's website answering some of the criticisms of his fight with Matt Hamill.
As most people will of seen the fight with me and Hamil was a close one. I have seen the controversy surroun ding the decision so obviously have to reply. I personally feel he won round 1 and I took rounds 2 and 3. That said it was close and can I understand how some people would think differently. On the night I was given the decision and he wasnt, on another occasion it could of been different.

Looking at message boards it appears that some ( major understatement) people are pissed off about my comments afer the fight. Looking back I should of given hammil more credit as he fought a great fight and has improved his all round game a hell of a lot. What you have to remember is though the adrenalin was running through my veins, I had fought a hard fight and was obviously happy to get the decision. I would like to take this oportuninty to say well done to Matt for fighting great and bringing the fight to me big time, I should have commented on this on the night.

I have contacted the UFC and stated I would like to rematch Hammill at everyones earliest convenience as Im sure most of you know, no fighter wants a win when the decision is debateable. I am happy for the fight to take place where ever, and look forward to settling the score once and for all. I personally feel we put on a great fight for the fans and perhaps people should focus on this more.

I apologise to all my fans who feel let down by anyhting at the weekend, hey Im a young man with alot of emotion and sometimes say things in the heat of the moment.

I’d like to say thanks to everyone who has sent me there messages. Theres been to many to reply to them all. I will say this though, if Matt Hammils gonna cut me next time he might need a carving knife as Ive definately got thicker skin over the last few days.

After the fight I had a few beers with my freinds and made my way home with all my team. I’d like to say thanks to everyone at the Wolfslair for their continued help and support. Thanks to Team rampage for all there help at big bear and thanks to all my sponsors(tapout,Affliction, premier security and xyience).

Right now Im spending some quality time with my kids as its been hard being away from them for so long.Gonna take a week or so off (gotta let the bruises heel) and then its back to the gym.

Yeah I think Mirko needs to retire or at least take a decent break to try and build some hunger.

People are always going to talk about Fedor but I really cant wait to see how the Rampage, Shogun, Chuck, Wandy, hendo saga plays out....have I missed anyone? Okay how about Sokoudjou! The LHW division is going to be nuts real soon. Most of the incumbent UFC LHW stock of last year are going to be distant memories very shortly I think.>

He usually "stalks" his prey, setting up the left kick or the right hand. But this weekends fight he was being stalked and he doesn't do good in that situation. I really think his heart isn't in it anymore. Maybe he's disappointed that he's in the UFC now? Maybe he was much happier in Pride. Who knows? All I know is that I've lost interest in someone who was once the most feared striker in MMA.

On another note, if Kongo dedicates his training to the ground game, he'll be one hell of a fighter. He's strong, tall, has great standup. He's a beast to be reckoned with.>

Quoting: dscott;51210 Who knows? All I know is that I've lost interest in someone who was once the most feared striker in MMA.

I suppose he did have the crown at one stage but there are others. Mark Hunt springs to mind. What about Wanderlei? Even Fedor!...back in the day there was Vovchanchyn, I remember him back in the bare knuckle days - Monster! Marco Ruas was a top feared striker too...and lets not forget Tank Abbott! For all out fear inducing, skull smashing potential he has to be up there. Who is the top EVER, I dont know, especially if we are talking 'most feared'.

Quoting: dscott;51210 (Whoops! Accidentally deleted the bit where you mentioned Kongo)

I hate Kongo's stand up. Its all attributes driven and actually looks to have gotten worse over time in my opinion. Maybe he didnt want to show too much airtime against CroCop though.>

Post: bamboo:

Another thing to keep in mind is that Mirko took 5-6 groin shots, not glances but full on groin shots, heck one even as they were being pulled apart. Taking a shot to the nuts over and over from a guy like kongo will take something of your stamina and will. Kongo didn't even lose a point for that crap.

-bamboo>

Post: dscott:

That's a great point. I completely forgot about that.>

Post: zefff:

Yeah but he was offered a whole 5 minutes and didnt take it. Thats his own fault. Getting pressed against the cage repeatedly was his own fault too. I think he should retire or take a sebatical after his contract runs out.>

Post: bamboo:

Good points all Zefff. I wonder if 5 minutes would have done it though?

Either way he certainly does seem lackluster and needs a serious break.
