Are you on the film?>

Hi,
happy to hear that you enjoy the clips.I am not in the film.I am from the very place in India ,where it orginated.Kalaripayattu can be broadly devided in to three styles.
Vadakkan(Northern style),Madyakeralam(Centarl Style)and Thekkan(Southern style).The video above showcases the Northern Style.
In the northern style the weapons are given great importance and the empty hands are taught at the last.
In the Soutern style, empty hands are taught first through forms and these forms are created in such a way ,it can be directly translated to the weapons.
You can watch some video clips of the southern style in from the link below

Kalaripayattu is always a fascinating art form to watch. I especially enjoyed the spear-versus-sword and shield demo. Definitely warrants further research to shed light on how neighbouring cultures actually employed such weapons.>

man I've always been interested in kalari. My Sifu actually was the one that introduced me to it.>
