For me, its all about focus and proper intention. Speed is not really part of the equation for me.

I'd have to say intention (Thanks Bamboo :mrgreen:). That's the only way you can learn techniques properly, and with proper intention speed doesn't even matter. Basically, even if you're with a beginner and going lightly, they'll never properly learn to defend themselves if you aim to miss when you're throwing punches.>
