1001 Submissions Manual Review by Matt Bryers

I was
very skeptical at first about this book… it’s an attempt to compile submissions from all different positions (nice rhyme) into one resource. I didn't think it could be done....
Man was I wrong. I was EXTREMELY impressed with this book. It is now one of my favorite books in my house and among the people I train with. It is my coffee table book.
There is a great deal of information of the submissions, the evolution and history of the submission, and how to execute it properly. The book isn't just a bunch of pretty pictures; it is a comprehsive resource on fighting submissions.
There is more then just submissions, it is als a great reference on transitions, positions, and general fighting knowledge.
The book isn't just meant for grapplers either. This book can benefit anyone in any martial art, bouncers or anyone looking to improve their self defense. They detail what common submissions can be used in MMA, Street Fights, Self-Defense, and security scenarios.
The book is a little steep..... $75. At first I was a little worried about forking that type of cash out. But in the end, I was quite happy I did. The pictures are also black and white. At first I wanted color, but it doesn't take away from anything.
In summary I would give the book 4.5 out of 5 stars. It's great for any martial artist or regular guy. It’s an amazing reference manual for training, and its well worth the price.
