Extreme Knife Self-Defense Techniques

Martial Arts Topics - Realistic Fighting

Knife FightingThe truth of about knife defense is that you will get cut, you will get injured and you might die. Fighting and defending against a knife wielding attacker, whether trained or un-trained is a dangerous situation.

There are many so-called reality-based martial arts out there who offer some form of weapons defense. But most of these martial arts have no real experience or approach defense against a knife in a non-reality based fashion.

The secret to real knife defense is Simple, Easy, and Effective.

When I think of effective martial arts styles that come to mind, I think of:

  • Combat-Based Jiu-Jitsu programs such as the H2H Combat Self-Defense Program
  • Krav Maga
  • Combat Wing Chun
  • Philipino Martial Arts such as Pekiti-Tirsia Kali
  • and Concept-Based Self-Defense such as Fast Defense

Here are some knife self-defense videos from these unique programs and approaches.

They are also found on the:

H2H Combat Self-Defense Program Knife Defense
Step 1 Step 1: When you opponent stabs, control the knife by blocking with you left hand on his bicep, right hand on his wristing (assuming he is right handed)
Step 2 Step 2: Step through and under his arm leading with your left leg. Twist his arm with both of your hands.
Step 3 Step 3: Come underneath his shoulder and in a low wide stance. Your shoulder should be perpendicular to his arm. Control the arm with the hand on his wrist and prepare to strike with your other hand.
Step 4 Step 4: Strike his arm right at the wrist level. This will give you maximum leverage and snap his arm. This motion will also cause him to drop the knife.
Step 6 Step 5: If he hasn’t dropped in pain already, spin around and elbow him in the back of the head.
