One of the most important aspects when dealing with a knife is preventing the knife from coming close to you. This techniques uses a good defense against a knife attack. The technique is a powerful and quickly executed one that snaps your opponent’s arm at the elbow joint.
![]() | Step 1: When you opponent stabs, control the knife by blocking with you left hand on his bicep, right hand on his wristing (assuming he is right handed) |
![]() | Step 2: Step through and under his arm leading with your left leg. Twist his arm with both of your hands. |
![]() | Step 3: Come underneath his shoulder and in a low wide stance. Your shoulder should be perpendicular to his arm. Control the arm with the hand on his wrist and prepare to strike with your other hand. |
![]() | Step 4: Strike his arm right at the wrist level. This will give you maximum leverage and snap his arm. This motion will also cause him to drop the knife. |
