Orginal Post: Jack_Vallick: I work out heavily three nights a week. Non-stop upper-body work, coupled with twice a week that I jog and do lower-body work. But, I've found that after the upper-body workouts I feel extremely weak and untight the following day.
My muscles also shrink for that day and a little of the following one.
Is there any way to avoid this? Should I do post-lifting warm-ups?

You shouldn't "warm up" after lifting. Instead, try "cooling down". Just like running. After you ran a few miles, you don't just stop ubruptly. You slow down and cool off. I say do a little bit of relaxed stretches. Supplements also can help you with soreness.
The soreness should start going away even if you don't do these. Once you start working muscles at a certain level, continously, the tension will go away.
Just my thought.>

Call me stupid but I kinda like that pain. I know that it's not an acurate measurement of a good workout but for me its my way of reminding me that I have hit the weights.
Basically that pain isnt a bad thing, while discomforting. Luke warm showers ( slighlty colder than you normally have) can help your body to pump out the lactic acid from the muscle fibers basically a cool down. But don't have the water too cold otherwise you cold get cramps.>
