Orginal Post: Ninja Kl0wn: Wondering if anyone had any experience with Pavel Tsatsouline's Naked Warrior program? Did you get noticable results from it? Is it worth the $40 price tag?

I believe Dave just ordered it. You could PM him and ask if he's received it yet.>

Dang, for a moment, this page had my hopes up - I thought it was referring to nubile gladiatrixes fighting in the nude or something
Anyway, Tsatsouline's stuff interests me, as does all the alternative Russian exercise science that has been hitting the market in recent years. I look forward to Dave's review. Speaking of which, if anyone's looking for kettlebells, I heartily recommend the model sold by Ironmind. Instead of a cast, fixed-weight kettlebell, they instead sell the equivalent of modular dumbells - a kettlebell handle that extends into a loading pin upon which you fasten plates galore with heavy lockers and away you go. Neat, eh?>

What kind of stuff is actually in the book? And how similar/dissimilar is it to Furey's stuff?>
Post: CreativeFighter:
I'm not too familiar with Matt Furey, but I can tell you for sure that Pavel's approach is a lot different. He doesn't claim that he invented this stuff, but he does present it in a pretty unorthodox way. I'm working on some of this stuff right now, and after a week and a half, I can do one-handed pushups. It's a VERY good book. It might just make you forget about weight training.>

I finished reading this yesterday.
Pavel only emphisises the use of 2 techniques in this book, the one armed push up and the one legged squat (aka the pistol)
He outlines the basic principles clearly with the use of diagrams, its easy to understand regardless of the number of headshots you have taken
He emphisises the use of tension greatly throughout the book.
Some random notes from the book:
Strength is a skill, and should be practiced, not trained, pavel believes that we should feel stronger after a session not weaker.
He says that we should never do more than 50% of what we are capable of and should never work to exhaustion.
He belives that the 2 exercises should be done in sets of a maximum of 5 reps and with plenty of rest between them.
He says stop before you feel tyred. Good form is key in all exercises.
He says that 6 small sessions should be enough everyday, making sure everytime that we dont work to failure, he says if you look at strength as a skill then you must practice this skill regularly in order to get better at it.
Worth $40? Depends how deep your willing to put your hands into your pockets I suppose, helpful? Definately!, I applied some of pav's ideas into my routine with success quickly!>

Even though only two exercises are advocated, the Grease the Groove principle can be applied to other exercises. I'm applying it right now to my pullups.
Pavel also talks about tension and strength techniques in his other books.
I personally experienced a RAPID increase in strength. For instance, I couldn't lower my chest to the ground one handed without collapsing, and then a week or so later I was doing sets of three OAPUs throughout the day. I was very impressed. On Friday I'm going to try for a new personal record on pullups, so I'll let you guys know.>

I heard about it,
not too happy about the only two exercises idea.
Doesn't work the back, and other muscles.>

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but like it so far.
I have been training with Russian Kettlebells for about 4 weeks now, 2-3 times a week. They are awesome! I will post some of the workouts I have been working with in a separate post this week, just for some feedback. I've lost about 5-7 pounds of fat, and gained strength in kicks and punches. My training partner also said he sees noticable increases in my arm/neck size.>
