Orginal Post: boundary121: I do a lot of muscle building exercises but i dont think it helps me lose weight. Just for my muscles and not for my whole body.
Does anyone know any workouts or exercises that i can do that will help me lose wieght? Or maybe help my whole body exercise.

Cardio like running, jogging, sprints, ellyptical machine, bike rides, stationary bike machine, etc. A good clean diet is also a must, you gotta do cardio and eat clean to lose weight. Building your muscle will also help lose weight, as your muscles burn calories even in a state of rest, so the more muscle you got the more calories you burn at rest, the easier it is to stay lean.

Anything that keeps your heart rate up will help you lose weight, really. This could be something as simple as lowering the rest time between sets for example. It also helps to define what your goals are and Research what you need to get there, there is no miracle pill or exercise alone that will do it, your gonna have to bust your balls. Try looking up "metal militia" or "westside" training programs....there powerlifting stuff, and will get you stronger and bigger if your serious. If losing weight is your only goal though remember, you actually have to have decent muscle size to look "ripped", there is no such thing as spot reduction of fat, and if you got any more specific questions give your current exercise program, goals, age, height, weight, and current diet.

PS
a diet is the food you eat, not a strict meal plan like people get sold.>

I have lost 62lbs since starting back inot martial arts in Jan 06. You can diet all you want but there is no replacement for cardio work. I go to atleast 3 - 4 Tae Kwon Do classes per week and also study Krav Maga. The Krav workouts are intense and high aerobics. This coupled with Weight Watchers has worked for me. Hope this helps.>

Post: jkd1984:

cardio 5 times a week and watch what you eat, works perfect :-)>

Someone give jkd1984 the prize- sensible information for the win.>
