Hi, my name is Rhon Mizrachi and I'm the head of Krav Maga Federation in the United States. I also own my own school in Manhattan on 25th St. I have been teaching Krav Maga for over 30 years. You can visit us online on kravmagafederation.com. Today, I'll demonstrate for you Krav Maga
We are talking about kicks. Kicks' is the long range weapon. It should be utilized in long range not in short range. That means you should understand that means you can reach an opponent at the fartherest distances. Kick!Is for motion. First: Your knee then come and aim at the target. For now target is groin height. Two: Extension. Three: Contraction of the foot; and Four: Foot's going to come all the way down. All of those kicks are going to have the same four motions. Those four motions are going to have to be followed in order to maximize the speed of that leg and balance for your body. Slow. I should say also this: because the target right now is his groin and because Krav Maga is an art designed for street purposes, most likely you're wearing shoes on your feet, therefore go ahead and hit him in the groin. It doesn't really matter with what, what matters is the range. Obviously if you need to reach more you're going to have to use one part of your foot. If you have to reach less you can use closer proximity of the foot. Forward motion, we are working slow. One, two, three, four. Lets go a little faster. One, two, three. Lets go faster than this. Change your leg. Lets do the same thing on the other side. Slowly. One, two, three, four. Lets increase speed. One, two , three, four! Lets increase even more. This will be a straight kick forward towards the groin. Let's take this kick and elevate it towards the chest or chin. You striking with the ball of the foot, the heel of the foot, or the entire sole of the foot, the target right now is higher therefore the knee must come higher. Motion staying the same, there'll be a little bit of drive out of your hip in order to drive him backwards. We're kicking slow. One, two, three! Do a little quicker. One! Two! Three! Lets do quicker than this.Change your legs, a little slow. One, two, three! A little quicker. One, two, three! We explode. One! Two! Three! |
