EricWongMMA Power is the ability to rapidly apply force. For MMA, power gives you the ability to execute explosive takedowns or throw knockout punches. The Push Press exercise I show you in this video develops your body's ability to generate power from the ground up. The Push Press is great because just like most standing techniques, power begins in the lower body then is transferred through the core and out through your arms into your opponent's body. Give it a shot, remember to keep the reps low and the velocity high. Just like I show in the video, if you start 'grinding' it out, you're not training power anymore, so stop the set and lower the weight to keep the reps FAST.
