Performances of the ancient Shaolin art of Wing Tsun Kung Fu took place at 3 different locations within the Forbidden City. The final demonstration was at the central throne room: the Hall of Supreme Harmony. The Forbidden City is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most beautiful locations in China. It is the world's largest palace complex and is located within Beijing. As the seat of imperial power, its name derived from the fact that it was forbidden for commoners to enter. The Forbidden City was built in the early 15th Century (completed 1420) and was home to 24 Emperors. It only ceased to be the political centre of China in 1912 with the abdication of Puyi, the last Emperor of China. Situated in Great Britain, the Julian Hitch Martial Art Schools of Excellence are dedicated to preserving the authentic art of Wing Tsun. Upholding the traditions, customs and etiquette of this ancient art, the schools are lead by renowned Si-Fu Julian Hitch - the first and only Western 'todai' ('son') of legendary Master Máday Norbert.
